Lamassu, creators of a line of Bitcoin ATM machines including open-source admin software, announced over the weekend the launch of its newest bitcoin/cryptomat ATM model, the Tejo.
The machine is designed with a compact form factor that will fit in almost any location. Moreover, the Tejo also has spacious internals and can accommodate extra cash boxes that can triple its bill capacity on both its bill validator and dispenser.
Electronic locks for cash pickup
Cash collection agencies such as Garda, Loomis, and Brinks frequently demand specific auditable locks as a prerequisite for providing their services. As such, the Tejo has the option to upgrade to the industry-leading Dormakaba Cencon electronic lock for an operator’s cash collection needs.
Starting in October, the first batch of Tejo machines will begin shipping out. Those interested can start the reservation process to be among the first to launch.

Evolving machines
Earlier this year, Lamassu added support for shielded Zcash (ZEC) transactions on its machines.
Also recently announced, in its forthcoming v7.6 admin software release, Monero (XMR) and stablecoins will officially be added to Lamassu’s coin lineup. Operators will soon be able to enable users to buy and sell XMR, along with USDt and more.
