The Crypto Valley Association (CVA), the Swiss-based cryptocurrency and blockchain technology ecosystem, announced today it will host a special Bitcoin Halving event titled ‘Half is More’ this Thursday, May 14th to mark the third Bitcoin halving. The online gathering will take the form of five fireside chats featuring leading companies across the digital asset space, with networking sessions followed by a virtual concert and later a lounge with a DJ.
Emi Lorincz, one of CVA’s new board members explains: “There are numerous events happening around the halving and the highlights of our event are threefold; we curated this gathering to bring together some of the most notable names and brilliant minds of the industry to analyze the halving from five aspects, and to hold virtual networking after the discussions take place.”
Alejandro De La Torre, VP of Poolin.com, who will discuss mining, added: “Since this event happens after the halving I look forward to sharing my assessment with the Crypto Valley community on how miners have been impacted throughout the occasion.”
Contributing to the first fireside chat is Pascal Gauthier, CEO of Ledger, who will be addressing the topic of security and the outlook for Ledger after the halving. Meltem Demirors, Chief Strategy Officer of CoinShares, who has invested in various bitcoin-related companies over the past seven years, will give her perspective from an investment angle. For the topic “Building on Bitcoin” Elizabeth Stark, co-founder, and CEO of Lightning Labs, will share her thoughts on the halving, while Garrick Hileman, Head of Research at Blockchain.com, will guide the audience through the main differences between this and the prior two halvings.
In the second half of the event Dominic Lohnberger, Head of Brokerage at Sygnum Bank, will give his perspective from the view of a Swiss crypto bank and share the vision and mission of the bank post-halving. The celebration after the keynote will be kicked off by Tatiana Moroz an American folk singer-songwriter, activist, and entrepreneur. She will be surprising attendees with a few of her finest songs and sharing her thoughts on what this halving means.
“When we gather on 14th May for our next #CVAvirtualseries, our esteemed experts will be on hand to share their immediate thoughts on the halving event. While the ongoing COVID-19 crisis has undercut the global economy, the spirit of collaboration and decentralization that has defined the growth of the Crypto Valley has endured, and we are already seeing a higher level of global engagement thanks to our digital event series,” concluded Jérôme Bailly, Executive Director of the Crypto Valley Association.
