Blockchain Valley Ventures (BVV), the Swiss-based blockchain venture capital firm and corporate finance advisor, today announced it has joined Draper Venture Network’s Beta Program (DVN Beta).
DVN Beta is a highly exclusive, global network of venture capital (VC) funds, founded by Tim Draper, the renowned US venture capitalist.
“Joining DVN is a natural consequence of BVV’s vision, which is to empower the best Swiss and European blockchain companies to scale globally much faster and establish a venture capital infrastructure in Switzerland which takes inspiration from Silicon Valley. Thanks to this alliance, companies in BVV’s portfolio will have access to a unique, global network of venture funds, expertise and corporate connections across geographies and industries. We are very excited to work closely with DVN and are very impressed with Tim Draper’s creation of the DVN.”
– Heinrich Zetlmayer, Partner and Managing Director of BVV
The addition of BVV to the network marks DVN’s foray into Switzerland’s expansive blockchain ecosystem and investment space. DVN currently consists of over 20 VCs that operate in 60 cities globally and collectively manage $2 billion USD in assets under management.
The DVN Beta Program supports VCs by facilitating the collaboration of independent VCs to cooperate in a global alliance that focuses on investment diligence, market intelligence, and investor relationships.
“We are thrilled to welcome BVV as a member of the DVN Beta Program. BVV’s unique value proposition will further strengthen our access to the vibrant European startup scene and to the Swiss ecosystem in particular, which may become a leading crypto destination as depicted by its work on Libra and the opening of two crypto banks. We believe BVV’s unique combination of deep operational and industry experience, combined with its specialist hybrid approach to investing and advisory, will be pivotal in fostering the growth of blockchain-enabled businesses. We look forward to working closely with the BVV team and their portfolio companies.”
– Tim Draper, Founder of DVN
VCs are invited to join DVN on the basis of highly selective criteria, including the success of the investment portfolio and the caliber of the team. BVV was accepted into DVN following an extensive assessment, which took into account its strong track record of advising clients on capital raises via traditional private placements and Security Token Offerings (STOs).
BVV has completed eight investments in the blockchain space thus far, across different industries such as supply chain management, open banking, telecommunications, cybersecurity, gaming, and healthcare.
