Former leaders at Microsoft, Verizon, and Qtum join Cypherium blockchain team

Cypherium, a decentralized blockchain and first to solve governance disputes by using proof-of-work, has hired a principal engineer and marketing executive to help lead the next phase of its roadmap.

Mohan Ananthakrishnan, Cypherium’s Principal Engineer, brings more than 20 years of experience in software engineering, including a decade at Microsoft where he shipped products including the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine and Windows. More recently, Ananthakrishnan served as a startup CTO with a focus on peer-to-peer networking, cloud, and mobile technologies.

Javier Farfan, Cypherium’s Chief Marketing Officer, previously held senior marketing roles at Verizon, PepsiCo, and Microsoft. Farfan will guide Cypherium’s marketing efforts as the company develops a revolutionary blockchain aimed at bringing cryptocurrency mainstream.

“These three professionals will be a true asset to Cypherium as we roll out our technology this year. With John’s knowledge of blockchain, Javier’s marketing leadership, and Mohan’s infrastructure experience, Cypherium is poised to reach new audiences with cutting-edge blockchain solutions.”

Sky Guo, CEO and Co-Founder of Cypherium

By combining consensus mechanisms, Cypherium allows participants to actively adjust the blockchain’s protocol without compromising decentralization or security. Cypherium will use its cypher token, CPH, to execute secured transactions on the blockchain, and give users access to a more complex set of smart contract functions, such as sophisticated decentralized apps and implementing deferred payments.

The Cypherium team includes former engineers at Microsoft, Amazon, Tencent, and Google. The project is advised by Cornell University’s Emin Gün Sirer. Cypherium is a member of the Initiative for Cryptocurrencies and Contracts (IC3).
