Cryptocurrency hardware wallet KeepKey adds native ERC-20 support

KeepKey, a cryptocurrency hardware wallet, today announced the integration of native ERC-20 token support. Users can now send, receive, and exchange between 30 ERC-20 tokens directly on any KeepKey. Through its native ERC-20 token support, KeepKey users can now create and view raw transactions directly on the device without connecting to a third-party.

Functionality from KeepKey enables the device to display specific token name, token amount, destination address and total gas cost for transactions before signing. These security features are unique to the KeepKey hardware wallet device.

“KeepKey’s large screen was designed to display transaction details in a clear and legible manner. We utilized our screen size for users to see every aspect of their ERC-20 token transactions prior to signing, allowing users to transfer their tokens without having to trust anyone else.”

Ken Hodler, KeepKey CTO

ERC-20 tokens are built within the Ethereum ecosystem. All tokens apply a common set of rules and protocols and have been markedly utilized for fundraising of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs).

Founded in 2014, KeepKey allows users to hold Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum, Dash, and Dogecoin. Following this addition of ERC-20 tokens, KeepKey’s robust roadmap for 2018 includes the addition of many more top market cap tokens as well as commonly requested feature updates.

KeepKey users can now access ERC-20 tokens using the KeepKey production client from the Chrome app store.

Full List of ERC-20 Tokens: Aragon, Augur, Basic Attention Token, Civic, District0x, FunFair, Golem, Gnosis, OmiseGo, SALT, Bancor, ICONOMI, Melon, SwarmCity, Wings, iExec, Status, Numeraire, Metal, TenX, Qtum, 0x, FirstBlood, Ripio Credit Network, SingularDTV, DigixDAO, WeTrust, Matchpool, Edgeless and Storj.

This upgrade for ERC-20 support was first announced in January 2018, also remember that KeepKey was acquired by ShapeShift last summer for an undisclosed amount
