Hicky.io: Is the future of online dating on-chain?

Published by CryptoNinjas.net

The future of the world is hinged on communication and relationships. Online platforms play a huge role in ensuring that we achieve this. They not only act as the fields for maintaining relationships, but they initiate and catalyze these relationships.

Recently, we have witnessed a proliferation of dating sites that have cropped up to try and initiate relationships across the world. While to some extent these sites may have made progress, much still needs to be done. Research shows that in America, close to 40 % of individual look for love online. Even with these astronomical figures, conventional dating sites have failed to create a playground that is surrounded by trust, privacy, and security of user information.

Trust is a core issue that continues to bog down dating sites. One famous cartoon that went viral on the internet said that “no one knows that you are a dog on the internet”. What this basically means is that people end up using fake names, photos and even lying about their age on the profiles of these dating sites. There are numerous instances where dating sites have been accused of creating bots so as to lure more users onto their sites.

Even for those of us who input genuine data, these dating sites may end up selling our data to third party entities without our approval.

Lack of privacy is also a core concern in these dating sites. A common example would be the recent hack on one of the leading adult dating sites. One can only imagine, and shiver, at the disastrous consequences that this had on the users of this site.

Hicky.io: Using Blockchain on Online Dating

There is the need for a new approach in the way these dating sites work. This novel approach should address the core pitfalls that have bedeviled conventional online dating services: security, trust, and privacy.

Blockchain is a technology that is built to eliminate trust between two parties. Using Blockchain the collective whole will be used to verify information as opposed to relying on one party.

By using Blockchain to build trust, users can feel that the information shared is true. It can also only be accessed by people they have given access to. This information is also secure and is encrypted, making it less susceptible to hacking.

Hicky.io is a platform that seeks to leverage on Blockchain to create a secure, trustless and private dating application. Indeed, this will be a viable alternative and the next frontier in online dating.

Hicky will verify all users using a secure biometric technology that will include both facial and voice recognition. Data on this platform will also be encrypted; keeping it safe and secure.

The overarching goal of this platform is to promote good behavior when it comes to online dating. To achieve this, users will be incentivized and rewarded for being actively engaged and well behaved. There will be rewards for voting, referrals, good behavior, and verifications.

The app is set to be launched in the second quarter of 2018. The token sale for this app is currently ongoing until March 16th.
