Securities blockchain app provider Equibit assembles advisory committees

Published by CryptoNinjas.net

Equibit Group, creator of the Equibit blockchain and blockchain applications for the global securities industry has announced that it is assembling several committees of advisors to the board to help guide the company’s leadership by offering advice, insights, and analysis in areas of the respective member’s expertise.

Groupthink is detrimental when plotting business strategy, and it’s important to hear from different perspectives when considering the next move for the company, evaluating opportunities, and assessing risk. Having committees that include thought leaders and industry experts allows for Equibit Group’s leadership to have a better understanding of the market and examine different points of view.

Chris Horlacher, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer

Equibit Group is adding two committees on top of the existing cybersecurity committee: Strategy, Risk & Compliance.

Members of the new strategy committee include Manie Eagar, Chairman of the Blockchain Association of Canada and CEO of Digital Futures, who brings 30 years of experience driving new wealth creation, business growth and strategic innovation to the advisory team. Rik Willard of the Agentic Group is joining as well. Rik is a media and startup professional with over two decades years experience in advanced B2B and B2C projects in the digital media and luxury sectors. As the Founder and Managing Director of The Agentic Group, he’s responsible for leading a team responsible for consulting and finding business opportunities in the emerging “Internet of Value”.

Another highly respected business leader joining the strategy committee is Greg Murphy, Founder and Principal of Bolton Capital and Partner in Outlier Ventures. Greg has over 30 years of experience in capital markets in numerous roles at some of North America’s most prestigious institutions including Wood Gundy and Midland Walwyn/Merrill Lynch.

On the risk and compliance committee is David Gilkes, the Vice-Chairman of the Private Capital Markets Association of Canada and President of North Star Compliance and Regulatory Solutions. David has over three decades of experience in in research, investigation and regulation of firms in financial industries including 7 years at the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC). David was the Manager of Registrant Regulation for the OSC, where he oversaw the registration and conduct of over 60,000 individuals and firms in Canada’s largest capital market. He has also worked on policy development while at OSC.

Also joining the risk and compliance committee is J. Alexander Moore, Partner at Davies, Ward, Phillips & Vineberg LLP, a prestigious Canadian law firm ranked #1 in innovation by the Financial Times. Alex advises leading Canadian and international clients in public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, proxy contests and contested transactions. Clients across a broad range of industries – including mining, transportation and energy – value his dedicated and creative advice.

Equibit Group stated they it welcomes leaders in the financial, legal, cryptocurrency and cybersecurity industries to apply to become an advisor. If you are a seasoned professional in one of these industries and would like to contribute to the future of securities and investor relations please contact Equibit Group’s CEO, Chris Horlacher.
