Ignition: New Solana hackathon commences with up to $5M in awards

Solana Labs, the organization managing the Solana blockchain, has today commenced its latest ecosystem hackathon focused on Web3, DeFi, Gaming, and NFTs.

Ignition is the fourth Solana hackathon, following the success of its Solana Season hackathon earlier this summer which boasted 13,000 total registrations, 350+ project submissions, and 50+ projects that advanced building on Solana and raised immediate funding.

Microsoft, Jump Trading, Standard Chartered, Forte, and Metaplex join Solana Capital as category sponsors for the hackathon, offering a pool of up to $5 million in prizes and seed funding.

In addition to category sponsors, Solana ecosystem companies Serum, Mango, Pyth network, Raydium, Solend, Stardust, and Wormhole network are offering $30,000 prizes each for the best project integration, with a $5,000 prize also offered by Chainlink.

Hackathon

Ignition will run from August 31st to October 8th. The Grand Champion will win $75,000 in USDC, along with passes to Breakpoint, the first annual Solana conference, where they will present their project.

Judges and speakers will include Jeremy Allaire, Amy Wu, Ali Yayha, 0xMaki, Matthew Graham, and more.
