Blockchain-powered user monetized video journal app Vid available Feb 29 on iOS

Vida video-centric social media app that allows users to control their data and monetize their memories, announced today the dates of its upcoming launch on iOS and Android. Established in January 2017, Vid uses AI and blockchain technology to enable its users to create privacy-protected video content while allowing users to monetize content and retain 100% of advertising revenue.

Pursuant to the expected February 29, 2020 launch of the iOS app and release of Vid Android Beta, the Vid team will work on readying its Android version for official release on April 1, 2020. The launch comes after a funding round of over $10 million USD in August 2019, with NGC Ventures, one of the world’s leading institutional investment firms, as a key investment partner.

The app uses blockchain to transfer value between content creators, advertisers, and the Vid platform. The past six months post-investment have seen Vid propel forward significantly, with substantial growth in its user base, attributable in part to the onboarding of globally recognized influencers, which have an aggregate reach of over 375 million followers.
