Factom Protocol, an enterprise-grade platform for efficiently building blockchain solutions, has announced that HealthNet, a population health data-sharing platform, will launch this spring on the Factom blockchain. Developed by Consensus Networks, an Authority Node Operator (ANO) on the Factom network, HealthNet is a secure data-sharing platform that aims to improve health outcomes for patients and healthcare workers alike.
Clients will be able to exchange sensitive health information in a regulatory compliant manner by leveraging the power of the Factom blockchain and Consensus Networks’ advanced cryptographic methods. Initial use cases for HealthNet include prescription drug tracking, insurance claim tracking, and care coordination between providers for patients suffering from chronic disease.

HealthNet was developed internally at Consensus Networks through SBIR Phase I funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with the Phase II funding renewal process already ongoing.
The launch of Consensus Networks’ HealthNet platform on the Factom Protocol is accompanied by news that Consensus Networks has been awarded a $50,000 USD grant from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The U.S. Air Force Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract, which has been distributed through AFWERX and the Air Force Research Lab, will be used to explore the use of blockchain and cryptographic solutions to secure software chains of custody within the U.S. Air Force. The grant will also be used to enhance the DoD’s DevSecOps capabilities and augment their cyber-security efforts.
