Nervos launches mainnet after completion of $72 million token sale

Nervos Network, an open PoW blockchain platform, has announced today launch of its “Lina” mainnet. Now fully operating, miners and developers will be able to work on and utilize the network starting Nov 16.

The Common Knowledge Base (CKB), is Nervos’ permissionless blockchain that anchors the network. Going forward, the Nervos community expects various layer-2 solutions to bring limitless scalability.

The native CKByte (CKB) token is used for resource management, miner incentivization and storage space on the Nervos blockchain.

During a six-month testnet period, Nervos launched a number of initiatives to strengthen its security and ensure stability for the mainnet launch.

Mainnet preparations included a series of mining competitions to stress test the network (with hashrate exceeding 20 TH/s), two independent security audits, and a $1 million bug bounty program.

Token Sale

Over the past months, Nervos closed $72 million in fundraising via a token sale on Coinlist.

Institutions participating included: China Merchants Bank International (CMBI), Polychain Capital, Blockchain Capital, Hashkey, MultiCoin, and Distributed Global.
