Stellar partners with Keybase for largest ever XLM airdrop

The airdrop will run for at least 3 months, with subsequent months subject to basic success metrics for the program

The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF), the organization behind the Stellar network, has announced a partnership with Keybase for its largest airdrop ever. Keybase is mainly known for being a cryptographically encrypted security app used in file sharing and communication.

SDF is giving away up to 2B XLM over the next 20 months (100M XLM each month). All one must do to qualify is to have an authenticated Keybase account, and the XLM will appear in the wallet — automatically, every month, for as long as the airdrop continues.

The lumen, often abbreviated XLM, is the protocol token of the Stellar network. One hundred billion lumens were created the instant Stellar went live, as part of the protocol’s design. These tokens play a unique role in the network’s operation.
