DAG-based DLT project Ring Network shuts down development

Ringnetwork Shut

Ring Network, which before rebranding started out as TrustNote, a project developing a MimbleWimble implementation of a DAG-based distributed ledger system, today announced “that after careful deliberation it made a tough operational judgment call about the proposed upcoming mainnet changes and has decided to pause the work being done to bring the Ring Network testnet into mainnet.”

This will mean that the testnet for Ring Network, including the new DAG explorer, will not be supported until further notice. As such, the team is not pushing forward with listing the RNG token onto any cryptocurrency markets.

However, the team clarified that the mainnet of the TrustNote network has been operating well and has proven to be stable, and the native TTT token will continue to trade on Bit-Z and Bibox exchanges.

“Given what happened during and after the 2018 cryptocurrency crash, the resources we have left to fuel the development of the Ring Network testnet has been impacted to a point where we had to make the difficult call to put that development effort on pause. As unfortunate as this is, this will allow remaining resources to be allocated for the continued support on the current mainnet infrastructure. Of course, we still encourage community feedback and involvement, and hope to rise up and innovate further when the time is right.”

“On behalf of the Ring Network development team we wish to thank all of our valued community members, and encourage them to continue to develop as they see fit. If you have any questions, we are still here to help. We appreciate your continued support, and will keep you updated about any future developments as the situation changes.”
