Cryptocurrency DASH now a payment option at Church’s Chicken Venezuela

The team of cryptocurrency Dash, has announced that it will now be the exclusive crypto payment option at all Church’s Chicken Venezuela locations, with 10 locations launching acceptance today. Church’s Chicken Venezuela becomes the first major franchise group to accept Dash and joins a growing list of over 2,200 merchants in Venezuela that now take Dash at the point of sale.

The Dash Venezuela team has been extremely active in the broader digital currency space for much of 2018, growing adoption and providing ongoing user support to local residents as their country continues to suffer from the effects of local currency inflation and market instability. They’ve introduced cryptocurrency solutions to Venezuelan merchants, as well as run the monthly Dash Caracas cryptocurrency conference, where speakers, entrepreneurs, and local media are brought together to help Dash grow its brand recognition and drive adoption. This has been made possible by Dash’s decentralized governance and monthly treasury system, which allows users to submit proposals to be voted on for funding. Around the world, this has been used to set up and maintain a wide array of Dash community endeavors.

“The Dash Venezuela and Dash Core Group teams have been instrumental in helping us adapt our payment systems, staff training, and providing counsel on all essential internal and legal processes for this integration, helping us become a global pioneer franchise in terms of accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment method. This integration was the result of our trust in Dash and its role as a growth agent in this new financial world – a system which can be successful in any market across any number of different industries.”

Orlando Gustavo Navas, Church’s Chicken Venezuela General Manager

Originating in Texas in 1952, Church’s Chicken is now a major global brand, and the fourth largest chicken restaurant chain with more than 1,700 locations across 25 countries. Church’s Chicken Venezuela includes 13 locations, 10 of which are run by franchise operator Venezuela Chicken Restaurant C.A. and will be the first stores to integrate Dash payments including two at the international airport, Aeropuerto Nacional de Maiquetía. The remaining three locations will be integrated in the upcoming quarter. To support the launch, starting in January and for a limited time, anyone who pays for combo meals in Dash will receive a free order of small french fries.

“We’re proud to be the exclusive cryptocurrency payment for Church’s Chicken in Venezuela, it’s further evidence that Dash leads the way in digital payments. The Dash Venezuela team has done an incredible job fostering this emerging ecosystem on the ground, and it’s exciting to be integrating with a major national food chain at the franchise level, for the first time in Dash history. Like many great initiatives, the seeds for this partnership were planted in an earlier conference event held by the Dash Venezuela team. They kicked off the initial conversations, with Dash Core coming in later to help support and finalize the partnership.”
