Celer, an internet-scale, trust-free, and privacy-preserving platform running on top of existing and future blockchains has announced a partnership with DFINITY, a next-generation blockchain-based decentralized cloud platform. Both teams will work closely on developing and integrating Celer Network’s off-chain scaling solutions in DFINITY, with the common vision of enabling internet scale on public blockchains and bringing dApps to mass adoption.
Celer Network has gained early access to DFINITY’s blockchain SDK. Using the SDK, Celer Network has successfully implemented the first version of cChannel on DFINITY. Through this partnership, Celer Network has become the first project to incorporate off-chain scalability solution to DFINITY.
DFINITY is a next-generation public blockchain system that uses a decentralized network to create a secure “Internet Computer” (decentralized cloud — “cloud 3.0”) designed to host the world’s business systems and data. DFINITY is applying novel mathematics and data structures to support its secure distributed computing network. To support developer adoption and facilitate use, DFINITY uses a WebAssembly-based virtual machine — the future software standard for the web. This enables DFINITY to deliver high performance, never-before-seen platform interoperability, and data security.

Celer Network, as a layer-2 scaling platform, will develop and integrate its off-chain scaling solutions on top of DFINITY to further boost its scalability. With DFINITY as the underlying security layer, Celer Network’s generalized state channel and sidechain suite (cChannel) and provably-optimal state routing algorithm (cRoute) can provide DFINITY with another dimension of unlimited scalability. Celer Network’s cOS also provides a friendly development framework and application runtime that allows the DFINITY community to easily access the off-chain solutions and scale their applications to millions of users.
