bitFlyer integrating API with Japan's 2nd largest bank Sumitomo Mitsui

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), a multinational financial services company and Japan’s second-largest bank and bitcoin exchange company bitFlyer announced today they will partner to integrate bitFlyer’s cryptocurrency market and account API.

Through this collaboration, SMBC’s customers will be able to conveniently access and use bitFlyer’s service within their online account. SMBC is the first bank in the country to utilize the service.

bitFlyer, which is Japan’s largest bitcoin exchange plans to continue utilizing various technologies, including APIs in order to provide financial institutions new value.

Last month, bitFlyer extended its reach by opening its bitcoin exchange service in Europe. In the process, it became the only exchange company with licenses in Japan, the U.S., and Europe.
