Bitcoin wallet app Wirex soon to introduce bank account features

Wirex, the UK based bitcoin wallet application is almost ready to roll out their bank account feature to users. The company said the full capabilities of its new crypto-friendly banking platform will be added slowly over the course of weeks and months.

According to Wirex, the first bank account available will be based in the UK, available to dozens of countries around the world — with a British account number and sort-code and fully registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

Further, users will also be able to receive 3rd party deposits into their Wirex bank accounts. Deposits will be available from UK local bank transfer via FPS (Faster Payments Service) for same-day transfers. IBAN transfer will also available for international deposits. Additional currency accounts with different funding options are planning to be added after initial launch.

The company will be adding real-debit cards to accounts, not prepaid cards. Every user will initially be able to get a free virtual payment card. Wirex said its new physical Contactless Cards will “hopefully” enter the manufacturing process soon, further availability updates are still to come.
