CFTC grants DCO registration to bitcoin trading and clearing platform LedgerX

LedgerX submitted an application for DCO registration on January 25, 2017.

Regulatory mission complete as far as LedgerX is concerned.

Just a few weeks after LedgerX was granted an order of registration as a Swap Execution Facility (SEF) on July 6th, The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) by a unanimous vote has now issued an order granting LedgerX registration as a derivatives clearing organization (DCO) under the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA).

LedgerX has been waiting a few years to receive full registration as the first U.S. regulated digital currency derivates exchange, they will initially clear bitcoin options.
