The team at BTC derivatives exchange Deribit has just announced that Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex has been removed from its BTC Index.
Deribit stated that they believe the current Bitfinex price does not represent the real bitcoin price due to USD withdrawal problems.
As soon as Bitfinex resumes their USD withdrawals, Deribit said they will add Bitfinex to the index again.
Please note: This has a minimal impact due to the fact that the Deribit index system leaves out the highest and lowest prices. In this case, the Bitfinex price was already taken out.
