Estonian based cryptocurrency app Freewallet adds more language support

Freewallet, the developer of 11 user-friendly crypto-wallets for iOS and Android, has been localized and translated into Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian, Korean and Chinese languages. That means the service now covers 75% of the app market, according to Google Play data.

People all over the world use Freewallet apps, interestingly, only 25% of customers are from English-speaking countries and another 25% are located in Asia-Pacific. Cryptocurrency enables users in developing countries to use sophisticated financial services that were previously available only in developed countries.

According to Freewallet, the internet allows for decentralization not only in blockchain technology but also for the economy as a whole, distancing it from the world’s financial centers. Therefore cryptocurrency is rising in demand within these developing regions.

Alvin Hagg, Freewallet Co-Founder stated:

“There is a wonderful book by Victor Papanek “Design for the Real World.” Must read for design thinking people. Victor is well known for his Tin Can Radio that was made of metal food cans and powered by candle. Actually it was designed to be produced cheaply in developing countries. Imagine an impact of this invention on Godforsaken villages. Just like that radio, Blockchain can activate the peripheral economies. I want to see Freewallet as a kind of the Tin Can Radio. Simple, but well-designed tool for virtually anyone in the world. Localization is the way to achieve this goal.”

As one of the few providers that can sell cryptocurrencies most anywhere for fiat currency, Freewallet strives to expand its presence in non-English-speaking countries. Regardless of nationality and income, anyone can become a part of the crypto-world with using its apps.
